High School Summer Apprenticeships - Central Virginia Community College

Summer High School Internship Opportunities

Over the past few years, CVCC has partnered with local industries throughout the Region 2000 area to provide summer internship opportunities for high school juniors, seniors, and recent graduates. The internships are often rooted in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education and allow students to gain knowledge and hands on experience in a particular field of interest.

Our goal as a division, is to increase the opportunities available for high school students for the summer of 2015. Internship opportunities are vital to building our future workforce. Through these experience students are able to: use, expand, and further development the skills and information they have learned in school, learn the importance of having a good work ethic (attendance and teamwork), make connections for use on college application and possible future jobs, and for some possible earn a salary or gain college credit.

Workforce Development is committed to priming the pipeline for Region 2000 and would love to add more companies and businesses into this endeavor. We understand that when a company (large or small) makes an investment - they are investing in the future.
