Clubs & Organizations

CVCC offers a number of clubs and organizations for our students.

ASCET

American Society for Certified Engineering Technicians
Purpose: To develop an interest in Engineering Technology and discuss the vital role of Engineering technicians and technologists in today's high-tech society. Membership is open to interested students enrolled in two-year Engineering Technology programs.

Art Club

Purpose: To stimulate an interest in communication design which includes art, design, drawing, photography, and computer graphics. Some activities include workshops, art shows, studio nights, guest speakers, and field trips. Membership is open to all interested students.

AITP

Association for Information Technology Professionals
To develop a better understanding of the nature and function of information systems technology and its role in business and industry. It provides students with an opportunity to meet and interact with local employers. Membership is open to students in Computer-related curriculums as well as students enrolled in Information Systems Technology courses.

BACCHUS

Boost Alcohol Consciousness Concerning the Health of University Students
Purpose: To increase awareness of changing alcohol issues and focus on the development and promotion of positive lifestyles and decision making skills. Membership is open to all interested students.

BSA

Black Student Alliance
Purpose: To promote diversity within the college and the community and to enlighten the college community on aspects of the African-American heritage.

Campus Crusade For Christ

Purpose: This is an interdenominational, Christian organization seeking to provide a spiritual environment for students. Membership is open to all interested students.

Drama Club

Purpose: To provide a club for all those interested in theater. It strives to develop dramatic talent, to cultivate a taste for the best drama, and to foster cultural values. Membership is open to all interested students.

Electronics Club

Purpose: To provide support to students in the Electronics Technology curriculum and to share basic electronics knowledge and computer applications with other students. Membership is open to students interested in electronics.

Campus Freethought Alliance

Purpose: To create a positive social environment for CVCC students who are freethinkers, non-theists, skeptics, rationalists, and/or secular humanists and encourage education on topics of modern science as well as the history of scientific thought, rationalism, and secular humanist philosophy.

Games Club

Purpose: To provide an opportunity to play table games, exchange tactics and strategies, and develop skills. Membership is open to all interested students.

IAAP

International Association for Administrative Professionals
Purpose: To provide students with resources to encourage them to become qualified and competent administrative professionals with positive work ethics, image and values. Membership is open to all students and especially those in the Administrative Support Technology area.

Phi Beta Lambda

Purpose: To bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership development programs. Membership is open to students who are preparing for careers in business and business related fields.

Phi Theta Kappa

Purpose: Membership into this Honor Society is only open to students in Associate Degree programs who have earned at least a 3.5 grade point average after completing a minimum of 24 credits at CVCC. Once these criteria are met, invitations are sent to all eligible students.

Police Science Club (Chi Lambda Chi)

Purpose: To foster an appreciation for the broad scope of police activities. To promote this understanding, dialogue between students and criminal justice practitioners is encouraged. Some activities include field trips and guest speakers. Membership is open to all Administration of Justice students.

POLIS

Online Literary Journal - POLIS Website
The definition of POLIS is a community center (Greek marketplace); a place where a community dialogue occurs, perhaps a sacred ground. At CVCC, POLIS is an annual on-line literary journal for CVCC students’ writing that also showcases students’ artwork.

Psychology Club

To provide a means for all Psychology enthusiasts at the college to participate, stimulate an interest in psychology, and represent the college in this activity.

Spanish Club

Purpose: To improve Spanish language skills and to learn more about Spanish culture. Membership is open to all interested students.

STEP

Students Together for Environmental Protection
To educate the community about the environment and our relationship with the earth and to initiate and facilitate activities to better the environment. Membership is open to all interested students.

Membership is open only to students who have been officially accepted into these respective curricula.
