Admission Application Check List
Prospective F-1 students should be aware that filling out an application for admission does not
guarantee your admission to the college. CVCC reserves the right to reject applications that are
incomplete or provide information that is inconsistent or cannot be verified.

I-20 Information Request Form. |

At this link: fill out the
application for admission to the college online.
NOTE: Transfer students from a US
college/university must also submit the following official forms:
copy of current I-20; copy of current I-94; copy of current visa. |

|
Submit official copies with an English translation
of all secondary school and university academic records by the appropriate deadlines.
NOTE: Transfer students from a US
college/ university must submit an official transcript from all US schools attended
instead of secondary school information. |

| Step #4: |
|
Applicants must submit proof of financial
responsibility for the duration of the students F-1 status at CVCC in order for an I-20
to be issued. The listed forms and instructions will be provided to students who have
applied for admission to the college. Prospective F-1 students will be required to
submit one or more of the following documents:
- Financial Certification Form
- Affidavit of Sponsorship
- Affidavit of Sponsor Providing Free Room and Board
(Estimated costs for 9 months or two academic semesters are approximately $14,700) |

Because CVCC does not provide medical insurance;
applicants are required to submit proof of medical insurance and repatriation insurance
for the duration of your program at CVCC. |

|
Demonstrate that English is your country's primary
native language, or proficiency in English. Non-native speakers can demonstrate
proficiency in one of the following ways:
- A score of 67 or better on the TOEFL iBT
- A score of 517 on the regular TOEFL
or a score of 6 on IELTS.
- Transferring from a college within the United States a grade in college level
Freshman English of 'C' or better.
NOTE: Scores must come to the college
directly from the testing service. College transcripts must be sent directly to the
Admissions Office at CVCC from the university you are transferring from. Hand carried
documents will not be accepted. |
F-1 students who enroll at CVCC are expected to be familiar with all federal laws governing their
presence in the United States. F-1 students must agree to comply with all federal immigration
requirements as explained on the back of their form I-20.
F-1 students are required to report in person to the International Student Advisor no later than 15
days after their program start date. To make an appointment, please call 434.832.7800 to schedule an
appointment with KIMBERLY FRENCH, the International Student Advisor. Bring your passport, with your
visa stamped, your I-94, and your stamped I-20. Failure to report to the International Student
Advisor will result in your dismissal from CVCC.
