Graduation Information
Graduation Applications for Degrees, Diplomas, & Certificates:
All students expecting to complete the requirements for a degree, diploma or certificate, must complete
an Application for Graduation and submit it by the following dates:

There are two ways to apply for graduation:
- Students may submit their application using their MyCVCC account at:
https://cvcc.my.vccs.edu Select
Student Information System > Self Service > Student Center > Apply for Graduation (or)
- Complete the Graduation Application Form
and turn into the Office of Admissions & Records, Amherst Hall Room 2204.
All applications must be received by the due dates listed above. If you are unsure if you qualify to graduate
please meet with an Academic Counselor to review your degree progress report. Students may view their
advisement/degree progress using their MyCVCC account using the following navigation: Student Information
System > Self Service > Student Center > My Academics > View my Advisement Report. Please
ensure that all information on the application is correct since diplomas will be printed with the names listed
on the application. If you will be receiving more than one degree, diploma or certificate you will need to fill
out a separate application for each one.
The application for graduation and the request to be excused can also be completed and:

- Faxed to (434) 832-7793
Once the application is received and processed, graduates will be mailed a Graduation Application Review form
listing any remaining course requirements needed to complete their degree. In March, eligible graduates will
receive a graduate packet with information regarding, commencement, regalia, announcements etc.
Graduation Exercise
The College's annual commencement ceremony will be held Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 7pm
at the Liberty University Vines Center. Graduates must arrive no later than 6pm to begin line up. This ceremony
is for graduates who completed their program during the Fall 2012, Spring 2013 or Summer 2013 semesters. Students
completing requirements for an Associate Degree or Diploma are expected to attend the commencement ceremony. If
you are unable to attend, you must complete a Request to be excused
form and return it to the Office of Admissions & Records for approval. You will receive official notification
regarding your request prior to graduation. Attendance is optional for those students completing requirement for
a Certificate or Career Studies Certificate.
