Comprehensive Standards
Federal Mandates
| Comprehensive Standard #1: When evaluating success with respect to student achievement
in relation to the institution's mission, the institution includes, as appropriate,
consideration of course completion, state licensing examinations, and job placement rates. |
Offsite Committee Concern: College presents documentation of grad rates in
Compliance Certification, but none on state licensing exams and job placement
rates.
Focused Response: Graduation and transfer rates (old link)
for CVCC are available for the whole college. The only program that CVCC
offers that requires a state licensing examination is the Emergency Medical
Technology Career Studies Certificate. CVCC graduates are expected to pass
this certification at a success rate equal to or greater than the average for
the state. Since 1999, the
state examination success rate
has equaled or exceeded average state results for Emergency Medical
Technology Basic, Shock Trauma, and Cardiac.
CVCC collects and reviews information about
job placement rates
through its graduate survey that is conducted annually. This information is
used to help evaluate the viability of programs.
