Fred Armstrong Joins CVCC Educational Foundation Board

 

Lynchburg, VA /Media Release/1/19/10– Fred Armstrong, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Wiley|Wilson, has joined the Central Virginia Community College Educational Foundation Board of Directors.

 

Armstrong, born in Harrisonburg, Virginia, holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A. from Lynchburg College. Before joining Wiley|Wilson, his broad base of experience includes employment with the City of Lynchburg as the Principal Engineer responsible for all design work performed by the City and contracted consultant services. Prior to working with the City, he was employed by Babcock & Wilcox as the Task Engineer responsible for the structural analysis of the nuclear-powered steam supply components.

 

In July 2000 he was named CEO of Wiley|Wilson and, in 2004, he became Chairman of the Board. He leads the company’s Local Government Business Development Group, the Board of Directors, and oversees the administrative functions of the company. His professional affiliations include the National Society of Professional Engineers, the American Council of Engineering Companies, and the American Public Works Association.

 

Armstrong and his wife live in Forest, Virginia.
