CVCC Alumni and Friends Golf Winners Announced
Lynchburg, VA /Media Release/6/15/09 –The CVCC Alumni Association’s Tenth Annual CVCC Golf Open was held Wednesday, June 10, at Ivy Hill Golf Club in Forest, Virginia. Blue Ridge Community College took top honors, and team members Bobby Clemmer, Ray Bowers, Corey Mace, and Todd McCray led the Captain’s Choice tournament with a final score of 57. The Second Flight winners were Mike and Margie Moorshead, and Bob and Sarah Post, playing for the CVCC Educational Foundation, posting a score of 62. Third Flight winners were John Mastroianni, Marty Giudice, Bill Johnson, and Mike Cavanaugh, playing for the CVCC Board. The “Duffer Duck Award” went to the team with the highest score of the day. The winners--John Poole, Cat Mobley, Kristen Robertson, and Suzanne Foster—played for the CVCC Bookstore with a final score of 72. In total, fifteen teams played in this year’s tournament. All proceeds of the Annual CVCC Alumni Open Golf Tournament benefit the CVCC Alumni Association Scholarship Program.
