Ninth Annual CVCC Golf Open Winners Announced

Lynchburg, VA /Media Release/6/16/08 The CVCC Alumni Associations Ninth Annual CVCC Golf Open was held Wednesday, June 11, at Ivy Hill Golf Club in Forest, Virginia. The Championship team of Mike Lewis, Ryan Ferguson, Greg Taylor and Ted Mitchell, playing for AREVA, won for the second year in a row with a team score of 57. Second Flight, 1st place was won by Neighbors Place with a score of 62. Team members included Kevin Labore, Chris Smith, Ben Larson, and Jeff Eames. the Barr Labs team of Bill Leach, Jeff Thompson, Gary Zinn, and Pat Corbell, led the Third Flight with a score of 66.
The Open's annual "Rotator Cup" contest between CentraHealth and Halifax Regional Healthcare, was won by Halifax Regional. The Centra team was captained by George Dawson, while Nick Lumsden led Halifax. The Opens twenty-one teams were made up of both CVCC alumni and area business people. All proceeds from this annual tournament go toward funding the CVCC Alumni Scholarship Program, which benefits first time students who are children of CVCC Alumni.
