CVCC Announces AREVA Summer Apprentices
Lynchburg, VA /Media Release/6/10/08 Ten area high school students have been chosen for the AREVA Summer Apprentice program, sponsored by AREVA and by the Workforce Development Office at Central Virginia Community College. The students will be paid for summer work at AREVA while simultaneously earning college credit. The program will run from mid-June until August 8, and during the first week of August the students will also serve as mentors for middle school students who are participating in the CVCC Summer Academies.

Nick Collins, Brookville High School
Daniel Hostetler, E.C. Glass High School
Harrison Whitt Johnsen, E.C. Glass High School
Martin Jordan Minot, E.C. Glass High School
Trevor Darragh, Heritage High School
Dominic Godine, Jefferson Forest High School
Melanie Updike, Liberty High School
Cody Campbell, Rustburg High School
The AREVA Summer Apprentice program is funded by grants from Tech Prep Region 2000, the Department of Labor, and the National Science Foundation.
