Virginia grants CVCC Certification for Security Curricula
Lynchburg, VA /Media Release/ -- Central Virginia Community College has been awarded Certification as a Private Security Services Training School by the Department of Criminal Justice Services of the Commonwealth of Virginia. The CVCC Training School, under the direction of Thomas Starke, is a department within the schools Business and Allied Health Division. Starke is responsible for ensuring compliance by the school with the Regulations Relating to Private Security Services and the Code of Virginia. The Certification follows CVCCs compliance with Code of Virginia Chapter 27, Title 9.
The Private Security Services Training School allows CVCC to conduct certified classes in nine areas under the Department of Criminal Justice Services. They include:
William Sandidge, CVCC Dean of Business and Allied Health, states the establishment of the Private Security Services Training School will ensure that the needs of business and industry are met in the private security area. It will also provide another opportunity for students to enter into the field of private security.
Kim Buckner, Training Manager for the Commonwealths Private Security Services Sector, stressed the responsibility associated with operating a Private Security Services Training School. Certified training schools are directly responsible for the quality of the training provided to practitioners of private security services. The effectiveness of the training impacts the students ability to serve and protect the safety and welfare of the citizens of the Commonwealth.
