Governor Declares July 3 a State Holiday

CVCC to Resume Classes July 5

 

Lynchburg, Va. /Media Release/ -- Virginia Governor Tim Kaine has proclaimed Monday, July 3, to be a state holiday.  State offices around the Commonwealth will be closed on the third and Fourth of July.

 

College president, Dr. Darrel W. Staat, has announced that CVCC will observe both the state and national holidays.  Classes will not be held and offices will be closed on those days and will resume on Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at which time summer classes will resume.

 

Dr. Geoffrey Hicks, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Student Services, has instructed the College’s deans to work with summer term instructors whose classes are affected by the added holiday.
